Consensual groups (Brazil)
A characteristic of leading companies is their openness to identifying and resolving conflicts.
In contrast to the prevailing tendency to participate in “consensual groups”.
For example, in WhatsApp groups, the majority of members are typically those who think along the same lines. And this characteristic, unfortunately, leads to the loss of situations that could contribute to the development of companies and the personal development of those involved.
In this line of thinking, those who disagree with the group are practically insulted and perhaps even expelled from the group. Everyone loses. A different perspective can bring value to seeing challenges and even to finding solutions.
In Brazil, being obedient, compliant and even submissive is considered a positive factor. In the foreign companies for which I have provided consultancy, there is typically a desire to pursue what is best, even if it means “clashing” with the prevailing thinking.
