This according to International Energy Agency (IEA)’s newly released World Energy Outlook 2024. Electricity use has grown at twice the pace of overall energy demand over the last decade. But now, driven by light industrial consumption, electric mobility, cooling and data center demand, electricity demand is projected to accelerate at a phenomenal pace – 3% per year through 2035. That’s 2,200 terawatt hours (TWh) more in 2035, than forecast in last year’s IEA Outlook.
