The industry in Goiás recorded the largest increase among all states in the country in September 2024, with a growth of 2.4% compared to August of the same year, in seasonally adjusted variance. Using the same indicator, national growth was 1.1%.
This information comes from the Monthly Industrial Survey – Physical Production (PIM-PF), issued by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and validated by the Mauro Borges Institute (IMB), on Thursday (07/11).
In cumulative 12-month variance, the state had the third highest growth rate (6.8%) in the country. The increase was driven by the automobile, trailers and structures industry (57.7%), followed by the clothing and accessories industry (32.2%). The national growth in this indicator reached 2.6%.
Year-to-date, the increase is 3.9% while the Brazilian average is 3.1%. The most prominent activity this year is the manufacturing of cars, trailers and bodies, with a growth of 68.7% in 2024.

In the 0.2% variation in industrial production in Goiás in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, eight of the thirteen industrial departments and activities showed an increase, the most relevant being: manufacturing of food products (2.1%), manufacturing of coke. Petroleum products and biofuels (4.5%), and the manufacture of automobiles, trailers and structures (46.9%).
These increases are due to increased production of frozen meat and poultry waste; Fresh or chilled meat and poultry offal; Ethyl alcohol biodiesel. Vehicles powered by gasoline, alcohol or dual-fuel engines; And freight transport vehicles with diesel engines.
The Secretary General of the Government, Adriano da Rocha Lima, celebrates that the industry in Goiás continues to achieve results above the national average and that Goiás was the state with the largest growth in the country in monthly variation with seasonal adjustment.

Year-to-date, the national industry is up 3.1% with positive results at 17 of the 18 locations surveyed. The cumulative score over twelve months was 2.6%, and 17 of the 18 sites analyzed showed positive results.
