The sugar produced in the factory is still suitable for the Islamic consumer market.
CRV Industrial Plant, located in Carmo do Rio Verde (GO), has successfully renewed its Halal certification. This certification ensures that the crystalline sugar produced meets all legal requirements and is of reliable origin, suitable for the Islamic consumer market. The audit to maintain the certification was carried out in early September. The bioenergy plant obtained this important certification for the first time in 2021.
Furthermore, halal certification ensures that all processes, from raw materials and inputs to packaging, follow the standards set by the religion. “When a food is certified as halal, it ensures that it has been produced in accordance with all religious standards during every stage of the process,” explains Anna Flavel, food engineer at the plant.
The importance of this process goes beyond religious compliance. It is a continuous search for progress in processes, services and especially products, demonstrating the factory’s commitment to quality and safety provided to customers. Through certification, CRV Industrial opens up new market opportunities, especially in marketing to Islamic countries, where certification is essential for export.
Brazil, as one of the largest suppliers of halal products, is emerging on the world stage due to the growth of the Muslim market, and the quality and safety of the sugar produced by the factory is essential to the success of this strategy. These audits provide an opportunity to continuously improve systems and work standards to serve this expanding market, and to strengthen CRV Industrial’s presence among the most recognized countries for halal products.
