The Goiás economy grew by 5.5% in October this year, compared to the same month in 2023. The information is taken from the Index of Regional Economic Activity (IBCR), measured by the Central Bank and analyzed by the Mauro Borges Institute (IMB), affiliated with the Goiás government. In the case of Goiás, there was also a positive variation in the 12-month period, with an increase of 4.1%, exceeding the national average of 3.4%. In the year to date, economic activity growth in Goiás has reached 3.2%.

The upward trend has been seen since September, when the state recorded a 4.7% increase, compared to the same month in 2023. The numbers are a preview of the GDP.

“This positive scenario can be seen in increased employment and income opportunities for the people of Goiás,” he highlights.
This year, Goiás registered the highest number of official jobs in the historical series compiled by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, reaching 1,603,179 jobs.
