Embraer (NYSE: ERJ / B3: Embr3), one of the global leaders in the aviation industry, today announced that it is working in conjunction with Florida Power & Light to expand the use of renewable energy in the United States of Industrial Units, with the installation of solar panels in Melbourne.
This is the first and largest solar power generation project in Embraer among all its global operations. Facked in Melbourne, Florida, at the Embraer Executive Aviation headquarters, these solar panels to expand the use of renewable energy by the company. This initiative enhances Embraer’s commitment to reaching the goal of working with 100 % of its capacity from renewable sources by 2030, in all its global facilities.

Solavantage FPL facilitates the adoption of the use of renewable energy by companies such as Embraer, which provides a solution to generate full solar energy. The program provides a variety of solar structures for commercial and government customers, including coverage, wings and solar facilities on the surface, soil, shelters, seats, tables and trees. Customers work closely with the FPL team to determine and develop a suitable solution for their facilities. The program does not require a preliminary investment and FPL manages the design, installation and maintenance of solar assets during the contract period.

The solar installation, which contains more than 1900 paintings, will be the first in the Embraer industrial unit in the United States capable of compensating for energy consumption on site. Solar panels have the ability to save up to 1,800 megawatts per hour – which represents most of the energy needed to feed the company’s customer service center facilities.
Since 2021, when Embraer announced new environmental targets as part of ESG obligations, the company continued to give priority to cleaner energy alternatives, including adoption and increased use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in flight operations A from its facilities in Melbourne, Florida.
The installation of the solar panels on the site will bring free energy to the Ambraer Executive Aviation campus, which is scheduled to start operations by the end of 2025.
