The factory in Goiás intensifies fire control and prevention measures, through continuous monitoring, environmental education and rapid response to emergency situations
CRV Industrial, located in Carmo do Río Verde (GO), is intensifying fire awareness measures, both among its employees and in the local community. Plant fires represent a serious threat to life, in addition to causing destruction to animals and plants, and causing financial losses and irreparable damage to the environment and society.
The bioenergy plant adopts a robust fire prevention and control plan, which includes continuous monitoring, regular training, and rapid response in emergency situations. The areas are monitored through frequent patrols, drones and surveillance cameras. The team has been trained to quickly recognize signs of fire and potential vandalism, and warning signs have been installed at strategic points to reinforce the burn ban.
Furthermore, CRV Industrial has developed an integrated management plan, which includes creating fire barriers – protective strips in the sugarcane field that prevent the spread of fires. The unit harvests sugarcane mechanically, without the use of fire.
In the event of a fire being discovered, communication is made immediately through emergency channels, and the internal brigade is called without delay. Equipment such as fire extinguishers, hoses and water trucks are placed in strategic locations to ensure a rapid response. During firefighting, teams prioritize the protection of areas most at risk, such as homes or high-value infrastructure, always with the aim of ensuring the safety of participants and minimizing damage to the environment.
Unlawful fires
In cases of suspected illegal burning, CRV Industrial cooperates with authorities by providing surveillance records and witness statements. In addition, it conducts a detailed survey of damages related to insurance claims and potential legal actions, where applicable. All legal procedures are formalized with the recording of police reports and the necessary legal follow-up to hold those involved accountable.
Community awareness and partnership
To enhance educational actions, CRV Industrial maintains a mutual aid plan in partnership with city councils and the fire department, in order to support neighboring communities. The factory fleet was decorated with materials from the firefighting campaign to raise awareness of the issue.
