This is an illuminating new graphic produced by space industry engineer, Thomas Auriel, highlighting Europe’s country by country hourly generation by CO2 intensity in 2024. The data points for Europe’s largest electricity producing countries looks like a swarm of bees (Germany) over a calm ocean of blue (France). The data comes from ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators (40 TSOs) that are responsible for securing and coordinated operation of Europe’s massive electricity power grid. It will be interesting to see how Thomas’s scatter-plot changes in the years to come.
